I have the good fortune of working with some very talented Koreans in many of my working years. They always come across as hard driving, and sometimes, they were much feared by co-workers.
In an attempt to understand the Koreans, I read "The Koreans" by Michael Breen. Here is one bit from the book that never fail to draw a smile from every Korean I showed to:
A foreign banker who has worked closely with the leading conglomerates in Seoul was quoted : "Dealing with Koreans is like dealing with bright adolescents. They are full of energy and want to do everything yesterday. They throw tantrums and are prone to erratic behavior if they whims are not indulged."
Ummm....A first glimpse of the Korean spirit.
